Here are some upcoming events/practices/meetings that you should all know about:
Saturday, June 2: National Trail Day. Either meet at the clubhouse ready to go at 7:30am OR plan on meeting us up at Bear Canyon Picnic Area NO LATER THAN 9am. Dress with long pants, closed toe shoes, EG or SBC tshirt and hat. Snacks, breakfast, lunch and water provided. Bring water bottle and your parent signed waiver (at clubhouse or I can email it to you). Please RSVP if you will NOT be at the clubhouse. Those I know are going separately include: Mose, Liam, Luke, Kira, Ellis. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join us! We will be doing trail maintenance from 9am – 1pm. This is a mandatory service project and a great learning opportunity.
Sunday, June 3rd: MTB ride leaving clubhouse at 6am. One group will do Robles; another Fantasy.
Monday, June 4th: 1ST AQUATHLON! We will be having a skills/stroke session at the Quincie Douglas prior to the start. Meet at the clubhouse at 5pm or at Quincie Douglas NO LATER than 5:30pm. You must bring appropriate swim wear, swim cap (if you have one), goggles (if you have them), towel and running shoes. And PARENT SIGNED WAIVER!
Tuesday, June 5th: Yoga. We have the fortunate opportunity to use O2 Modern Fitness’s yoga studio (and air conditioning!) for our Tuesday sessions!! This will start at 2:30pm – 4pm at O2. Either ride or walk there or get dropped off/picked up there. We will not be meeting at the clubhouse. All of you should have been there once before and thus will have signed a waiver, but if you have not then I can email it to you, please let me know.
Wednesday & Thursday: Bike Safety & Skills Training. We will all be taking the TS101 Bike safety class through the League of American Bicyclists that Ignacio, Daniela and Colin are all certified to teach as a way of 1) refreshing our memories, 2) relearning the language to use when teaching others about bike safety (i.e. bike campers), and 3) qualifying for future bike ambassador work and some great free stuff provided by Pima Count DOT.
For Wednesday, following the morning Mt Lemmon ride, this will start roughly at 10am. On Thursday, following the morning Fixed Loop ride, this will start roughly at 9:30am. Both sessions are different and necessary.
