Dear riders and parents,
it’s time for the second of our three Academic Advising Session. Here are how we are dividing the groups and the dates they will be meeting. The session will be from 430-6PM at the clubhouse
- 10th and 9th graders will meet on Friday the 7th
- 6th, 7th and 8th graders will meet Monday the 17th
- 11th and 12th graders will meet Friday the 21st
These sessions are mandatory. They are also an opportunity for you to work together as a team off of your bikes. Getting good grades does not excuse you from coming. If you get good grades, perhaps you can offer support and guidance to your team mates who are struggling. Getting good grades is also not an indicator that you are not stuggling. Perhaps you could gain some wisdom from peers have found ways to manage similar stressors. If you need to skip practice the week of your assigned session please do so.
What are Academic Advising Sessions? The Academic Advisory sessions are an opportunity for riders to meet and strategize as peers around the things they are struggling and excelling in. Like cycling, success in academia is not always an individualized endeavor but takes a team effort. Staff and coaches are available to advise, offer support and try to find resources as needed.
These are meant to be supportive and beneficial to our riders, so please be there and please bring suggestions for how we can improve our academic support!
Thanks
