To  be prepared:

The end of a super hard block of training is a tricky place. You are strong but tired.

You need to rest to soak in all the hard work you have done.

You don’t get faster ever by sitting on the coach, but you only get faster when you sit on the coach.

We need to take time to soak in all the hard work we have done.

Right now though you immune system also wants to take a break. It has been working super hard to keep up with your activity level.

It is very easy to get sick when you start to taper.

WASH YOUR HANDS  A LOT THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

DRINK WATER.

GET TO BED ON TIME

GET YOUR HOMEWORK DONE

These things should help you.

Or you can do the old school European thing and eat a clove of garlic with a spoon full of honey. I do all the time and have little problem with getting sick.

Also this week your bodies engine will still be running on high and you will want to eat like you have been the last few weeks. However be mindful. Your engine will not be burning as much fuel so you will need to tamp down consumption.

Its basic the harder you work, the more you can eat. The less you work, the less you need to eat.

All these silly little things add up, so lets do the math and be ready.

Well said coach-solid advice that applies to even the oldest teenager getting ready for some races.
