Weekend Plans
If you can only make one ride this weekend, please prioritize Sunday
Saturday— 7:15 Old Man
7:30 Big Kid
8:30 B team ride
I know it is going to be cold. However its really just one more time this season. Also we dealt with it at the 24 hour race, so I know we can all deal with it.
If it is too much for you, then enjoy a great B Team ride. Its a super solid ride and it will be warmer.
So yes, we are shooting out. Yes it will be cold. However we have clothes and gear for these conditions.
Sunday— TBC Time Trial Practice at McCains loop
9 am leave the clubhouse and return by noon

Tucson Bicycle Classic. This is the biggest race in Tucson. It is also one of our sponsors. Parents if you are able to help and volunteer during the race, that would be amazing. Coach Steve Bohn has been running this race for over 30 years and he has been a great friend to El Grupo.
The information below should be enough to give you a sense of the race. I will post exact information about logistics later in the week.

This is a stage race, so every rider has to complete every stage to start the next. So you must complete the event on Friday to race on Saturday and you must complete the event on Saturday to race on Sunday. As is right now, I have everyone on the team participating except for the few that have told me otherwise recently. This is whole team event.
Friday is the Time Trial in McCains loop. This is on the west side of the Tucson Mountains.

Men 35+ to 75+ 12:45 PM +/-
Jr. 9 to 18 2:00 PM +/-
Men 5 2:30 PM +/-
Men 4 to Pro 3:00-5:30 PM
These are the approximate start times for each group. Some of you might have to get out of school early. Vans will be departing at different times of the day from the clubhouse to make this all work. Exact start times will be posted on Thursday night.
If you are like Camilla who is unable to miss school, you can show up late. However your time will reflect your being late. This will allow you though to race on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday is the road race in Green Valley.

Again we will have coming and going for both waves at applicable times.
Sunday is a circuit race that is at Pima West. This is the most spectator friendly event and one that I hope everyone sticks around to enjoy and cheer. I will buy and have lunch foods for the team so we can all enjoy the races.
