Welcome back everyone. I am certainly excited for the new school year and the season to come.
I want to thank everyone for making the summer so special, from Bike Camp to Nationals to Durango. We had riders all over the United States and I am super thankful for everyone’s support and help.
Heading into this fall semester I want to be very intentional about the lessons we impart.
I often have these talk before practice but I think that sharing here and involving parents and community members will be helpful.
This first month of school and for our training plan I want us all to focus on CONSISTENCY.
Consistency in every facet of our lives so that we can create healthy structures that allow us to be successful.
Consistency in our sleep patterns.
Consistency in our healthy eating habits. Practice being good to your body.
Consistency in how we speak about our selves. Being good to ourselves is often something we need to practice.
Consistency in how we care for our friends and family. We want to treat others how we want to be treated.
Consistency in how we approach school and get our school work done. Make a plan so that you can keep up so that you can stay on top of your school work.
Consistency in the days of the week that you show up to practice and how you train.
Creating consistency will allow you to create expectations that you can meet and thus gain energy from. When you have plans and can meet objectives you will find confidence and accomplishment.
All month lets think about consistency and creating mechanisms for success.
TRAINING PLAN
All month the plan is built around consistent endurance rides. We are going to tackle this season the same as last year so that we can be our best at the last race of the season. However if we are consistent with our training this month then we will be ready for the first race of the season.
I want everyone to have great attendance this month and that is how we will build our fitness for the races.
Everyone please ensure that you have signed up for the ACA races by this evening if you want your name on your number plate. You can still sign up after today, however your number plate just won’t have your name on it.
IMPORTANT NOTE: ALL RIDERS PLEASE HAVE A REAR LIGHT ON YOUR BIKE AT ALL TIMES WHEN ON THE ROAD DURING PRACTICE THIS SEASON. SO HAVE REAR LIGHTS ON YOUR BIKE AT EVERY RIDE.
SOON ENOUGH, LIKE SOON, WE WILL GET QUALITY FRONT LIGHTS AS WELL.
THIS IS A NEW AND IMPORTANT SAFETY INITIATIVE SO THAT DRIVERS SEE US BETTER.
