Position: Operations Coordinator of El Grupo Youth Cycling



The Operations Coordinator of El Grupo Youth Cycling will function as a right-hand to the Executive Director by creating, modifying, applying and overseeing program structures in all aspects of the organization. This position will strengthen day-to-day operations, enhance internal processes and infrastructure, and help ensure organizational longevity. A strong candidate will have a background in management, non-profit work and a demonstrated interest in grassroots organizations and the mission of El Grupo.


Essential Functions:

  • Develops, supervises, reviews and continually improves systematic approaches to operation for each existing program in the organization
  • Responsibility for event and administrative duties needed day-to-day and in long-term planning
  • Develops and oversees program and event budgets
  • Performs related duties in HR, budgeting, outreach and management as assigned to ensure program operation
  • Collaborates with and advises the Executive Director when needed to accomplish program goals
  • Communicates with donors, staff and outside professionals to ensure compliance and satisfaction with El Grupo’s activities and goals
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with all other staff members to ensure open and efficient communication
  • Actively research and review non-profit success strategies and identify opportunities to apply them in El Grupo
  • Routinely compile and present programmatic data to the board of directors and ED at staff meetings to ensure all individuals are informed and aid decision-making


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s in management is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of senior management experience and at least 1 year of experience in operations/administrative management
  • Demonstrated strong analytic, financial, organizational, managerial and process/development skills
  • Must be comfortable and confident working alone and making decisions with minimal input from other staff when needed
  • Demonstrated past experience and excellence in managerial positions or roles requiring delegation, follow up and enforcement
  • Understanding and assessment of staff requirements to execute programs and events
  • Understanding of basic HR requirements and assigning appropriate resources to different parts of the program
  • Adept in IT, accounting, infrastructure, donations and systems resources technology
  • Ability to assist the Executive Director in day-to-day operations and decision making
  • Flexibility to adapt and work in a growing organization
