El Grupo’s silliest fundraiser of the year – a heck of a good time for all ages: Our Annual Bicycle Scavenger Hunt!

El Grupo’s 15th Annual Bicycle Scavenger Hunt, presented by BeachFleischman, is a fundraiser to support its mission of empowering youth through bicycles on Saturday, April 7th, 2018!

The super fun, challenging and yet family-friendly event will begin check-in at 8AM.  The riding will start at 9am for the full distance event and 9:30am for the family distance at El Grupo’s clubhouse near downtown. Enjoy coffee and treats from Beyond Bread while you get ready to ride!

You bring your bike (and friends!). We will give you a map of the downtown area. On the back you will find 10 riddles to solve and 10 objects to find. You will race, ride or gallop (at your chosen pace!) within a 3 mile radius of downtown searching for the objects, tackling feats of strength and stupidity, and learning about obscure parts in downtown Tucson you never knew existed! Family distance will include only 5 locations within a 1.5 mile radius.

Want to get a sneak peak?! Check out this SAMPLE MAP OF THE HUNT AREA and SAMPLE CLUE:

When assessing Tucson’s coolest landmarks, this place deserves more than a smidge

We are always excited to take you to the Cushing Street Bridge

You will learn new trivia about Bautista and flight

How many rode up the Santa Rita and, in 1920, what was the height?

With all riddles solved, hidden locations found, and scavenged objects in hand, you will return, race, dash to the finish for your team’s time and some good ol’ celebrations….drink and lunch included in registration. There will also be a raffle with prizes from awesome local businesses! Don’t forget your wallet!! Prizes and original handmade trophies for fastest teams (female, male & co-ed) and fastest families. All teams receive “goodie” bags. Enjoy music and laughs with friends!

There are a few ways that you can enjoy the Hunt – please read and register yourself accordingly.

Register as individuals, but the Hunt must be tackled in duos or 3+ member teams (male, female or co-ed).

1. Individuals – $35 each – Sign up as 2 person teams OR 3 or more person teams. And then indicate if it is an all Female, all Male or Co-ed team. Expect to ride 15-25 miles in 1.5-2.5 hours, depending on your street smarts, speed and determination.

2. Families – $70 for up to 4 of you, and must include at least one child under 12.

This will be a family distance with fewer stops than the “Individual” category, but perfect for having some fun for the whole family. Please specify below which category your family fits into: A) with riders 8 years old or younger; or B) with riders 9 years old or older; or C) with riders who are in Grupito! Please only choose ONE category!

Family distance riders can expect to ride 5-10 miles in 1.5-2 hours, depending on your street smarts, speed and determination.

3. If you are under 21 OR if you are an additional member to a Family, you can register at the youth price of $20. Please specify which team category you will be racing in below.

Procrastinator Fee of $10 per registration begins March 28th!!
