Tell me why you like riding your bike.
It’s just fun riding with a lot of people and the strategy involved and going really fast.
Compare your bike skills from when you started to now.
Well, I’m better at group riding and drafting and perhaps more awareness. When I first started, I was really sketchy. I tried drafting 4 feet off the next person.
How have you changed in character?
I’m probably more disciplined because I have to focus on riding and then school too. It’s a busy schedule.
How does El Grupo challenge you?
A lot with trying to balance my schedule. It takes a lot of mental work to bike sometimes. It takes a lot to do an interval. It takes a lot of focus to do the whole thing.
What are your goals with El Grupo?
To have fun. I guess this year, I want to be able to do well in high school mountain biking league- it’s a lot of fun. I also want to be able to ride the regular shoot-out at least once.
What are three things you’ve gained from El Grupo?
Biking skills- I commute pretty much everyday on my bike
Fitness- Something to do everyday instead of watch YouTube
Being able to teach someone else a skill
