Through our programs, El Grupo addresses key issues

  • Childhood obesity: Kids need to play! We focus on the bicycle as a tool to be used for fun, fitness, transportation and on developing healthy habits for the rest of one’s life.
  • Social and environmental disconnect: We focus on  engaging youth in the community and the natural world that surrounds us in meaningful ways.
  • Need for high quality out of school time programs for youth: We focus on the individual – building confidence, character and leadership skills – as well as camaraderie and teamwork with our youth.
  • All youth need a path: We focus on providing cycle-related opportunities for youth who have perhaps not yet found a positive path through traditional sports or programs.
